Connection problems in the bell
The bell tells you when a connected platform is disconnected, unlinked or about to expire, with a fix button, and shows messages from EverySqueeze.
The notifications bell at the top of the dashboard, and at the top of the mobile app, tells you when one of your connections needs you. Each problem is one line: what happened, how to fix it, and a button that opens that platform's section in Settings, where the Reconnect button is.
What it tells you about
- A connection that stopped working: TikTok, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube or Pinterest disconnected or expired.
- Facebook stopped sharing your Page with EverySqueeze.
- Facebook is connected, but no Page was shared, so nothing can post to Facebook or Instagram (see Facebook is connected, but no Page was shared).
- Instagram is unlinked from the Facebook Page it posts through.
- Auto DM is on but can't see your Facebook comments, so no DM is sent. Its button opens Auto DM in Settings; see Auto DM isn't sending.
- A connection that expires within 7 days (Facebook, TikTok, or Instagram when it has its own connection).
- YouTube is connected, but that Google account has no YouTube channel, so nothing can upload. Open youtube.com signed in to that Google account, click your picture, choose Create a channel, then reconnect YouTube in Settings.
- Your Facebook Page has no Instagram account linked, when you want it there (its auto-post is on, or a post to it was just refused). In the Instagram app: Profile → Edit profile → Page, and choose your Page (switch to a professional account first if asked). Then reconnect Facebook in Settings and select both.
- Your Chrome extension is out of date, with the version it last reported. Its button opens the extension's card in Settings → Amazon; see The EverySqueeze Chrome extension for how to update. You are not told if you have no extension, or if it has not checked in for 14 days.
These three also show as one line each in Needs attention on Home, with the same button.
A platform you never connected is not a problem and never shows here.
The bell also tells you how many matches are waiting for your OK, and how many videos need you to pick their product where no match was found (automatic posting holds only the ones EverySqueeze isn't sure of), and when a post went out without your Amazon link because its product wasn't confirmed (for 3 days). Their button opens Composer, where you confirm the product — see Confirm a product to get your Amazon link.
The number on the bell
Connection problems count on the bell together with failed posts and schedule changes to review (a post EverySqueeze moved from the time you set, automatic posts waiting because auto-post is off, a failed post about to clear from the list). The number is red while something is blocked right now, and amber when the only things counted are a connection about to expire or schedule changes; a schedule change opens the Schedule, where its post has OK or Post anyway — see Failed posts. It stays until the problem is fixed and goes away on its own once it is; opening the bell does not clear it. New messages from EverySqueeze count too, until you open the bell (or see their banner).
In the mobile app, tap the bell to see the list, then the button on a line to go to Settings. "Notification settings" at the bottom leads to the settings for phone notifications.
What's new
Good news from us (a new feature, a raised limit) shows as one What’s new card at the top of Home, and at the top of the Posts tab in the mobile app: a title, one line, sometimes a button to a Help article or a screen. Press the × to dismiss it. Only the newest one shows; any others wait in the bell, marked "What’s new". Dismissing is remembered for your account, like any message.
Messages from EverySqueeze
Sometimes we send a note to your account: news for everyone (planned maintenance, a new feature), something just for you, or an answer to a question you asked Pip. It shows in the bell marked "From EverySqueeze", with your question quoted when it is a reply. An important one also shows as a short note at the top: on a wide dashboard screen it sits inside the card with your handle and totals, otherwise as a slim banner under the page title, and under the header in the mobile app. Long text shows two lines; press More to read the rest. When several are up, the newest shows with a count of the others beside it, which opens the bell.
A message stays in the bell until you press Dismiss (or until it expires). Dismissing it there (the ×) removes the message from the bell too. Dismissing is remembered for your account, so it doesn't come back on another computer or on your phone. Links in a message open in a new tab. Messages are not emailed, and assistants don't see them.
The reconnect cards on Home and in Settings stay where they are. The bell itself sends no email; the Facebook reminder email is separate (see Why Facebook/Instagram access expires). Assistants don't see connection problems, because only the account owner can reconnect.
