Use your own link

Post your own link, your own Amazon link or a brand's website, instead of the matched Amazon product, on every platform.

Any video you post can carry your own link instead of the Amazon product we matched: your own Amazon link, or any web link such as the brand's own website or its affiliate link.

Pick the link: Amazon link or Custom link

In the Composer, press My link in the row of buttons under the video's products (beside Auto DM and Copy link). In the mobile app, open the post and press My link in the row of buttons under its product. A small window opens over the page with two tabs:

The tab that is selected when you press Save is the link the video posts. Cancel or Esc closes the window without saving. To go back to Amazon later, open it again, choose Amazon link and press Save.

Once a video has a custom link, its My link button lights up with a check, with the website under it (the same in the mobile app), and the video's Amazon card shows Custom link with the product's picture. Copy link, in the Composer and the mobile app, then copies your link.

Product boxes that ask for an Amazon link (Paste an Amazon product link under More options → Change product in the mobile app, Add Amazon product in the Composer, and the product window's Amazon link tab) only change which Amazon product a video links. Paste a website link there and they offer Use my own link instead, which opens this window on the Custom link tab with your link filled in.

Set it for every video of a product

Turn on Use for every video of this TikTok product on the Custom link tab before saving, or open Library → Products, press Change on the product and use its Custom link tab, then Use this custom link (or Save custom link when it already has one) at the bottom of the window; Close leaves without saving. The top of the product's window says what its videos post now, for example Currently: Amazon · the listing or Currently: Custom link · the website · 42 clicks, and has the product's Auto DM row: Your usual message · Customize when your Auto DM is on and the product has no message of its own, Off · Set up when your Auto DM is off, or what is set and Change. The product's line then reads Custom link · the website, with the product's picture and its clicks. A link set on one video wins over the product's link. To keep one video on Amazon while the product uses a custom link, open that video's link, choose Amazon link and press Save: in a video's window that always changes that video only, and the product's other videos keep the link. In the product's window, Use the Amazon link instead on the Amazon link tab switches the whole product back.

Clicks on your custom link

Click counting is being switched on account by account. When it is on for yours, the Custom link tab shows a Count clicks switch (on unless you turn it off); the i beside it explains how it works. Captions and DMs then carry a short everysqz.com link that sends people straight on to your link and counts each click. Until then your link is posted exactly as you paste it. We count clicks only: nothing about the person is stored. Link previews and bots are not counted.

Per platform. Each place gets its own short link (the same link with one letter added at the end, for example everysqz.com/bcdfghjk23f on Facebook), so the window shows 42 clicks · 7d, then 30 days and the total, and the split: FB (the caption and the first comment), YouTube, DM (Auto DM), Instagram (the link the Composer hands you), and Other (links shared before the split existed, and links you copied yourself). Library → Products shows 42 clicks · 7d on the product's card with the week's split.

Previous links. When you change or remove a custom link, the old short link keeps working (it is already in your published posts) and its clicks stay: the window lists it under Previous links with its total, and shows the total over all of them, for example 80 clicks on all links for this product (this link 61 + previous 19).

Where your link goes

Your link replaces the Amazon product link everywhere a link is added: the Facebook caption, Auto DM on Facebook, the YouTube description and the Pinterest Pin, for posts you make yourself and for scheduled and automatic posts. Instagram captions never carry a link, and the automatic first comment and Auto DM on Instagram are still waiting on Meta's approval; once they work they will carry your link too. After you post to Instagram from the Composer, it hands you your link to add by hand. In Coverage, the link icon on a video's Facebook square turns green with a check when it copies your custom link.

Your own link counts as your decision for that video: we never ask you to confirm its product, automatic posting never waits on it, and product matching never replaces it.

If your link could not be read at posting time, the post goes out with no link and says so: we never fall back to the Amazon product you replaced.

Only secure links (https) can be used, up to 2,000 characters, and not an EverySqueeze link. An assistant can see the link but only the account owner can set or remove it.

A custom Auto DM for one video

When Auto DM is on, press Auto DM for this video (Auto DM on the mobile app's card). Turn on Custom DM for this video to write a message just for that post; leave it off to send your usual message. With it on, the + First name and + Link buttons insert your follower's first name, and the link with your disclosure right after it, where your cursor is. The preview shows what they will see. The DM's button opens whichever link the video uses: the Amazon link or your custom link (a custom link's button reads "Open link" unless you chose your own button wording).

Extra trigger words apply with the switch on or off. They are added to your usual words on that post only: a comment with your usual word or the post's own word gets the DM. Other posts answer only your usual words. The caption's Comment LINK line names the post's first own word. Your greeting, button and disclosure stay the same.

Once set, the button lights up with a check. Turn the switch off and clear the words, then Save, to go back to your usual Auto DM. It can also be set for every video of a product, from the product's window in Library → Products.
