Photo posts and carousels (why aren't they cross-posting?)

TikTok photo posts are slides of images with music. With carousel posting on they go out as carousels; otherwise they are skipped.

A TikTok photo post (also called photo mode, a carousel or a slideshow) is a set of pictures you swipe through, with music. It is not a video.

Carousel posting is being turned on account by account. Whether it is on for you decides what happens to photo posts.

When carousel posting is on for your account

Photo posts go out like your videos, as carousels:

In Composer and in the phone app's Posts list a photo post shows its first photo with a small 1/7-style badge (how many photos it has). Post now, Schedule, Post everywhere, automatic posting, the older-video drip and Fill my week all include it, with the same daily limits and spacing as videos.

What EverySqueeze does for you:

If a photo post shows Instagram needs these photos reshaped in the failed list, the reshaping step is not available yet; Facebook and Pinterest are not affected. If it says TikTok did not give us the photos for this post, TikTok's own data had no pictures for it, and a retry will not change that.

Photo posts that were skipped before carousel posting was turned on are listed as skipped with it can be posted from Posts now: post them from Composer or the phone app, or let the older-video drip pick them up.

Turning photo posts off

Settings → Posting schedule has Also post photo posts, on unless you switch it off. Off, only your videos are cross-posted and photo posts are handled as in the next section.

When carousel posting is off

EverySqueeze still finds these posts in your TikTok library and can see which product they feature, but it does not cross-post them.

If you try to post one and see This is a TikTok photo post. Carousel cross-posting is coming soon., the post was refused on purpose and nothing was sent.

Is something wrong on my side?

No. There is nothing to fix or reconnect. Your normal videos keep posting as usual.

If a normal video is not posting, start with Making a post in Composer. Still stuck? Use Report a problem or ask Pip.
