Which Amazon account do I need?
Amazon Associates gives you the tracking ID EverySqueeze links need; the Influencer Program is only for posting videos onto Amazon itself.
Amazon has two creator programs, and EverySqueeze uses them for different things.
Amazon Associates: the one your links need
Every Amazon link EverySqueeze adds to your posts (Facebook, YouTube, Pinterest, the first comment, Auto DM) carries an Amazon Associates tracking ID, so the sale is credited to you. Open or sign in to Associates Central at affiliate-program.amazon.com; joining is free. Your tracking ID is there: your account name at the top right, then Manage Tracking IDs. Save it in Amazon tracking IDs.
Amazon Influencer Program: only for posting onto Amazon
The Influencer Program is your Amazon storefront (amazon.com/shop/…) and videos shown on Amazon's own pages. You don't need it for links. Its ID starts with onamz and earns nothing on a link off Amazon, so EverySqueeze refuses it as a tracking ID. You need the Influencer Program only to post videos onto Amazon through the extension's marketplace queue (see The Amazon marketplace queue). Already an Influencer? Use your Associates store ID from Associates Central for your links.
What a tracking ID looks like
- Starts with a letter or a number.
- Then letters, numbers, hyphens (-), dots (.) or underscores (_), up to 31 characters in all.
- Usually ends in a hyphen and two digits, like -20.
Examples: yourname-20, your.name-20, your_name-21. Not a tracking ID: an ID starting with onamz, your amazon.com/shop link, or an amzn.to short link. A full Amazon product link with tag= in it works: the box keeps only your ID. Spaces are removed for you.
